NYFW: Catherine Malandrino

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Hello hello, dear readers, and welcome to our #NYFW coverage! As those of you who follow us on Twitter know, we’ve been tweeting up a storm since we landed in NYC. But not everything can be said in 140 characters, hence this Fashion Week blog. We have a few images and bits of info from the front lines for your viewing pleasure—hope you enjoy!

First up: Catherine Malandrino

Sunday, September 12th: We started the day at Derek Lam—aka: the American Celine—then caught Preen’s S/S 11 collection (more on both later) before I headed over to Catherine Malandrino while Katherine went to see DKNY. The Malandrino presentation, which took place outside at Lincoln Center, was inspired by the creative works of Ceramist Roger Capron and the South of France. What does that means? Well, the collection featured loads of macrame (belts, shoes, tunics/tops etc.) and crochet, as well as heavenly linen pieces, amazing woven knee-high gladiator sandals, and a few silk print draped dresses and jumpsuits. Obsessed with so much of it, check out a few of my pictures! –HK
