Study: The Top 3 Trends of 2015
Each year, trends come and go. Some we soon regret, some we can’t imagine living without ever again, and some ultimately fall into both categories—but that’s what the delete function is for on Instagram. While 2015 may not be up quite yet, Edited, a real-time retail data company used in-house by brands like Topshop, Calvin Klein, and Saks Fifth Avenue, has already confirmed the year’s three most successful fashion trends. The study measured the retail success of 90,000 brands and over 50 million products worldwide, analyzing which retail trends successfully championed our collective style in 2015.

According to Edited’s study, yoga pant sales alone were up 183% from last year, with sneakers and sports bras trailing not too far behind. All that fitspo must be working!
Trend: The ’70s
Edited reportedly tracked 223% more fringed items online during 2015 from 2014, proving that the ’70s are indeed back. As we know, flared denim also took over the market, and our closets, with nearly 11,000 jeans available online.
Trend: Revival of Fabrics
This year we welcomed a few previously extinct fabrics back into the rotation. EDITED reports that suede increased 193% over last year with velvet and corduroy reentering the market with a bang.
