If you have a love-hate relationship with white dresses, you can rest assured that you're not alone. While it doesn't get much prettier than a breezy white dress in the summer, wearing the wrong undergarments underneath can quickly turn a simple white dress into a style faux pas. Which is exactly why we decided to turn to a sartorial expert to take the guesswork out of what to wear under a white dress. Accordingly, we consulted top celebrity stylist Tara Swennen, who counts Kristen Stewart, Lauren Conrad, Caitriona Balfe, and Lucy Hale among her bevy of It-girl clients. (It doesn't get more expert than that.)

Without hesitation, Swennen filled us in on the brand that she swears by for wearing with white (and sheer summer dresses): Commando. And since our bralette obsession is real, we were particularly intrigued by the one she recommends for summer whites: the $64 Cotton Scoop Bralette. As Swennen told us, Commando's "seamless pieces are great to use under sheer looks for a clean and flattering look. And the comfort is next level." She added, "They're especially great for springtime white." Last but not least, she shared a piece of advice that's music to our ears: "For undergarments for me, the rule of thumb is you shouldn't have to sacrifice comfort and function for style." Amen.

Read on to shop Swennen's perfect bralette, along with other Commando pieces she always recommends on her clients. After that, shop some of our favorite white dresses, and never wonder what to wear under a white dress again!
