Welcome to 2011, dear readers! We have a feeling it's going to be an amazing year, but just to make sure our hunch becomes a fact, we'd like to kick things off with a story that will you help you get in better beauty shape. Don't worry: there's nothing drastic in today's Beauty Board, just a handful of amazing products that are worth splurging on right now.
1. Bulgari Touche Precieuse Wrinkle Filler ($85)
Obviously Bulgari knows a thing or two about crafting exquisite products--their jewelry and handbags are simply swoon-worthy--so it's no surprise that the brand's skincare lines are equally impressive. While there are numerous noteworthy products, right now the Touche Precieuse is our go-to favorite. Thanks to its hyaluronic acid-enriched formula, a tiny touch of Touche Precieuse makes both fine and deep wrinkles appear to disappear and gives skin a smooth, satiny look. Particularly perfect for winter--as dry air always seems to suck the much-needed moisture out of your skin--this savvy and sleek product is definitely a new essential.
Kerastase Elixer Ultime ($50)
Between hairdryers, curling irons, and flat irons, we do a fair amount of damage to our hair on a daily basis, hence our perpetual interest in anything that might repair it--or at least make it a mite more manageable. That said, we're rather obsessed with Kerastase's new Elixer Ultime, which contains a nourishing cocktail of shine-enhancing oils (including argan and camellia) to deep condition our hair. Even better, you can apply it a number of ways: use it as a pre-shampoo treatment mask, a post-washing/pre-drying conditioner, or simply as a styling aid. Word to the wise: it's very powerful, so fine-haired girls should use sparingly.
Borghese Perla Duale High Impact Lipcolour ($25) in Perla Nudo
Every person in the Who What Wear office who has tried one of these ultra-moisturizing lip colors--four, and counting--loves it. Formulated with a trio of vitamins (A, E, & C) that condition and protect against anti-oxidants, as well as soothing chamomile and aloe, these lipsticks will give your mouth a touch of color and a ton of shine, so be sure to check out all six gorgeous shades today!
Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone Super 3-Minute Facial with Ginger ($50)
As longtime devotees of all things Perricone--if you haven't read his books, including The Perricone Prescription, you should--we were intrigued by his exclusive line for Sephora, Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone. There are a number of skincare products in the line, all of which are infused with phytonutrients derived from Perricone's beloved "super foods," but this ginger mask is at the top of our list. It should become part of your pre-party ritual, as it leaves your skin glowy and radiant in just a few minutes--perfect for the on-the-go girl!
Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone Super O-Mega Moisture with Chia ($40)
Of course, we wouldn't want to leave you with out an amazing moisturizer, which is why we also included this one from Dr. Perricone. The cream contains tons of omega-3s (the same stuff you find in fish or flax), so your skin will look extra youthful. Plus, like the rest of the Super line, the Super O-Mega Moisture is cruelty-free and formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes, or petrochemicals.
La Prairie Cellular Radiance Emulsion SPF 30 ($425)
Okay, so we'll be the first to admit that this product is an investment, but it's worth every penny. Seriously. After we first started using this incredible lotion--which is great for daytime, thanks to its SPF 30 formula--people started commenting on our glow left and right. And let's be honest: isn't glow the first thing that starts to go when the weather gets colder? But frankly, dear readers, we'll use this product year round because it makes our skin so luminous. Additionally, it also prevents future age spots from forming, evens out skin discoloration, and has a special ingredient that increases collagen and improves elasticity. Call us crazy, but we'd rather eat ramen for a month than go without this amazing La Prairie product!
Prevage Eye Anti-Aging Moisturizer ($98)
Elizabeth Arden's Prevage products are known for being incredible, which is why you certainly need to check out the new Eye Anti-Aging Moisturizer. It really does everything for this area: firms and smooths fine lines and wrinkles, brightens dark circles, tightens puffy lids, and it also rubs your feet. Okay, maybe not the last part, but the Idebenone-enriched formula (it's an uber-powerful antioxidant that is known for its skin revitalizing properties) is definitely no joke. Our suggestion: start using it now to ensure your eye area looks amazing for the rest of the year.
Liz Earle Energising Body Lotion ($33, available in the US this month)
Sometimes we get SAD at this time of year--seasonal affective disorder, of course--and while depression is no laughing matter, we do think we've discovered a wee cure to our winter blues: Liz Earle's new Energising Body Lotion. Not only does it smell like heaven, it's rich and creamy without being greasy--always a good thing in our book. It contains a number of ingredients, like caffeine and ginkgo biloba, to help improve circulation, plus zippy essential oils, including grapefruit, rosemary, pine, peppermint, and more. Keep your eyes peeled for this must-try product, it's one luxuriously moisturizing body lotion you don't want to miss!
