Pink Lips

Pink Lips
Friday, February, 09, 2007 With all the 80's influences, floral accents, and bright colors shown on the spring runways, it's no surprise that pink lips are making a comeback. We like them for several reasons: pink is cheerful (duh), there are so many shades that anyone can wear this look, and it's a lovely counterpoint to the ever-popular nude mouth. If you're feeling saucy, why not try a glossy watermelon shade (seen at Anna Sui, above), a fuchsia sheen (seen at Valentino), or a Schiaparelli-inspired, shocking pink matte (seen at DVF)? If sweet is more your thing, perhaps you should try a cotton candy-meets-cherry blossom shade (like seen at Proenza). You'd be in good company-this is Christina's color choice whenever she gives her red lipstick a rest.

For all you product junkies and wait-list types out there, Lancôme is about to release Proenza Pink, $25, the second in their Pout-a-Porter, limited edition, lipstick line. The last shade (the beautiful Behnaz red) sold out before the tubes even hit store counters. To make sure you're not scrounging on eBay, we suggest putting your name down now. The lists opened last Thursday and product will arrive on March 1st to Lancôme boutiques, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus.

Another line that's sure to cause a bidding frenzy is the upcoming Barbie Loves MAC collaboration. The collection includes lipstick, gloss, liner, shadow, mascara, blush, nail polish...and more. We love the vibrancy of Rocking Chick lipstick, $14, pictured above. While Barbie Loves MAC is not officially available until Wednesday February 14th, we hear that the Robertson store in LA will have the collection a week early. Go forth and think pink!
