Get The Look/Nicole Richie

Our readers requested information on how to emulate the beauty look Nicole Richie wore to the Yves Saint Laurent's Center Dance Arts pool party at The Beverly Hills Hotel, and we're happy to oblige. Richie's usual makeup artist, Paul Starr, wasn't on hand, so Gabriel Geismar took the reigns and created her "ethereal," "angelic," "radiant" makeup (your words). Gabriel dished on all of the products he used so that our readers can get this golden, lash-focused, face at home.

"There are a couple of things to know about Nicole-you have to do her makeup fast (in 30 minutes or less) and she's got perfect skin so you don't need any heavy products," Gabriel says. "To accentuate her flawless complexion, I powdered her skin with YSL's Matte & Radiant Pressed Powder and used Kevyn Aucoin's Celestial Powder in Candlelight to highlight the top of her nose and cheeks." He also used a hint of Laura Mercier Bronzing Powder mixed with Kevin Aucoin's Ethereal Pressed Powder in EP 13 for a matte finish and natural glow.

Nicole's cheeks were given a dusting of DuWop's Blushbooster in Pomegranate ("she liked this product a lot!"). For eye shadow, Gabriel first used Chanel's Ombre D'Eau Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Sand on Richie's lids. "This gold color works like an eye shadow base," Gabriel said. He then used two M.A.C. Cosmetics eye shadows from the limited edition Diana Ross collection, Showstopper and Flipside. While these shades are no longer available, try similar shades Embark and Amber Lights. Gabriel lined Nicole's eyes with Lancome's Le Crayon Kohl in Black Ebony. He rubbed the pencil on the back of his hand, and then drew a cat eye shape on Nicole's lids.

Major lashes came courtesy of two sets of M.A.C. fake eyelashes (like their 2 Lash). Gabriel cut each strip into five pieces and used Duo's Dark Tone glue to avoid any white residue in the eyeliner. Maybelline Great Lash mascara in black was applied to Richie's natural lashes. Finally, Gabriel lined her mouth with M.A.C.'s Lip Pencil in Spice and topped this with Nars Lip Gloss in Orgasm.
