Fall Makeup Forcast
The Look: Extra Eyebrows
The Muse: Christian Dior/Jessica Stam
The Products: Sephora Eyebrow Palette, $12, sephora.com
Prescriptives Groom Stick for Brows, $18.50, nordstrom.com
Fuller, groomed brows have been creeping back into style, so we weren't surprised to see that the runways at Carolina Herrera, Chanel, and Vera Wang featured eyebrow emphasis in varying degrees. Our favorite example of the look is Jessica Stam at Christian Dior, above. The brow is clearly a little theatrical for real life, but it's just gorgeous to behold.
If you're trying to beef up what brows you've got, we suggest trying Sephora's Eyebrow Palette. The little kit comes with two shades of brow powder, a lightweight brow wax to keep those suckers in place, and a wee angled brush too. Another divine product is the new Prescriptives Groom Stick for Brows. The skinny pencil comes in four shades and has a spooly brush on one end-the ultimate necessity for getting a natural look.
The Look: Crimson Lips
The Muse: Proenza Schouler/Anja Rubik and Valentino/Daria
The Product: Nars Sheer Lipstick in Flamenco $23, beauty.com
Sophisticated ladies, you're in luck, as many of the Fall shows featured a 40's-inspired, glamorous, red lips. Models at Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Proenza, and Valentino brought back crimson mouths in a serious way.
For this look, check out the latest offering from the experts at Nars. They've created a new, sheer lipstick shade called Flamenco that's sure to be a best seller. The lightweight texture makes the lip look modern and the color is perfection.
The Look: Major Eyeliner
The Muse: Karl Lagerfeld/Catherine McNeil and Moschino/Bruna Tenorio
The Product: CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Liner Pen in Very Black, $5.69, drugstore.com
As we showed you in Look Forward To: Fall Trends and Get The Look: Camilla Belle, liquid liner is a huge trend this autumn. There was a dramatic cat eye-effect going on at Louis Vuitton and Prada, but we also spotted wearable versions at Derek Lam, Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, and Moschino.
There are so many wonderful felt-tip liners available, CoverGirl's LineExact Liquid Liner Pen is particularly swell. Pat McGrath, the esteemed makeup artist, created it with CG and used the pen for the gorgeous eye makeup at Louis Vuitton.
The Look: Natural Face
The Muse: Fendi/Raquel Zimmermann
The Product: Benefit "That Gal" Brightening Face Primer, $27, benefitcosmetics.com
The idea of natural makeup is slightly contrary, but show for show, this was overwhelmingly the designers' favorite beauty look. It showed up on countless runways-too many to name them all-but we liked the look best at Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Bottega, and Anna Sui.
We're sure flawless skin comes easily for models, but for the rest of us civilians that radiance is possible thanks to Benefit. Right now they're launching a new, must-have primer called That Gal. You can wear it alone or underneath your tinted moisturizer/foundation and no tools are necessary (just apply it with your fingertips). You'll get that gorgeous model-glow and brightly smooth skin-not too shabby!
Even better? The kind folks at Benefit Cosmetics are currently offering a great freebie for WhoWhatWearDaily.com readers.
