Only a week or so after headphone brand Beats by Dr. Dre announced their acquisition by a little company you might have heard of called Apple, the audio accessories label helmed by the rapper-producer has announced potentially the most luxe partnership they've yet joined: with Italian fashion house Fendi.
The over-the-ear headphones, which will be previewd at the brand's Spring/Summer 2015 menswear runway show today in Milan, come in Selleria leather, the label's signature super-luxe materil oft used to craft their handbags. Colors include a vivid fire engine red, sunflower yellow, emerald green, and asphalt. And for those of you who are only interested in the most luxurious of headphones, there will also be a version in black crocodile.
Fendi's partnership with Beats by Dr. Dre is the latest in a fairly long line of music accessory collaborations that have happened over the past year. Beats already paired up with Alexander Wang on a line of headphones that topped out at $450; Rebecca Minkoff designed a line of stylish headphones for $250; and H&M worked together with Urban Ears on a collection.
A spokesperson for Fendi revealed that the headphones can be expect to run about $1,300, but that exact pricing still hasn't been determined. They're set to be released in late 2014. We'll keep an ear open (so to speak) for further details.
