Confirmed: Balenciaga Canceled All Those $200 Orders

Bobby Schuessler

If you've ever dreamed of owning a Balenciaga bag but couldn't stomach the five-digit price tag, you (kind of) had your chance to indulge in your very own (real!) iteration for under $200 yesterday. As Fashionista reported, the Balenciaga website is currently down after consumers noticed a glitch in many of the bags' prices. Naturally, consumers went HAM ordering away (who wouldn't?), creating mass hysteria across the social sphere (check out some of the tweets on Fashionista).

While obtaining an affordable Balenciaga bag seems to be the best news ever, it's unlikely shoppers will actually get their purchase for the price they ordered it at. Sniff, sniff.

Update: According to Racked and Page Six, Balenciaga has officially canceled all orders placed during the glitch. The brand sent a statement to Refinery29 saying: "Because Balenciaga values their patronage, clients who have been affected by the error will be reimbursed for their purchases and will be issued a gift certificate that will be redeemable at Balenciaga retail locations within the United States."

How would you feel if Balenciaga canceled your order? Tell us in the comment section below. And if you're still in the mood to splurge on a regular-priced Balenciaga bag, shop these finds on Net-a-Porter now
