3 Reasons You Need to Know About Aurora

Allyson Payer

We first mentioned Norwegian musician Aurora in our roundup of this year's fresh faces in music. Now that her debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, has been released to critical acclaim and she's made recent television appearances in the U.S., people are starting to take note. And for good reason: Her soaring voice and introspective lyrics join forces to create magical results. We're predicting big things for this 19-year-old's future in the music industry.

Keep scrolling to see three reasons we think you will be obsessed with Aurora, too.

1. Her cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" ended Episode 5 of Girls on a melancholy note this past season, with Shoshanna walking down the street in Japan alone. Lena Dunham has said that the song was chosen before Bowie's death. It was powerful and one of the most memorable moments of the season.

2. She has a quirky, feminine sense of style that sets her apart from other young musicians. She favors vintage-inspired dresses and midi skirts that perfectly suit her bleach-blond bob and expressive sound.

3. Her mannerisms are something to behold. She's very free when she performs and doesn't hold back when it comes to feeling the music. See for yourself.
