We're Into This Unique Take on Monochromatic Dressing, Kelly Rowland

by Kristi Mikesky

It's no secret we're big fans of monochromatic dressing—there's something so effortless and cool about rocking a single color from head to toe. The approach also offers room to get creative and experiment with different silhouettes and hues in the same color family for an inspired look. Kelly Rowland is clearly on our wavelength, rocking a green getup that's worth copying.

The singer and activist pulled off a tricky combo following a TV appearance in NYC: varying shades of green and a print. The trick to making it work? Choosing a jacket and pants in similar, muted hues (which almost serve as neutrals) allows the striking emerald sweater to take center stage. The overall laid-back vibe of the pieces keep it from looking overstudied, and cool-girl boots give it a bit of an edge. Next time you're looking to amp up your monochrome game, give Kelly's look a go.
