This Flat Shoe Trend Is Still Cool, According to Margot Robbie

by Allyson Payer

Margot Robbie has been out and about promoting her upcoming film I, Tonya recently, which means a lot of new sartorial inspiration for us via the Aussie star. One of our favorite looks from Robbie's press tour thus far came yesterday, when she stepped out in New York wearing a Monse shorts suit. Instead of pairing the cool suit with something like stiletto pumps, she went with an effortlessly pretty flat shoe, in turn proving that the trend is still cool: ballet flats.

When Miu Miu released its ankle-tie ballet flats a few years ago, they immediately became a cult favorite and the fashion world became enamored with ballet flats. Since then, other flats trends like loafers and mules have taken the fashion world by storm, but Robbie's pretty ballet flats with an on-trend pearl-embellished heel prove that the trend is still very much alive (especially when it's combined with pearls).
