From 50 Shades Of Grey To Gone Girl, These Are 2014's Stars To Watch
We can’t wait to see these stars on the big screen, and given their stylish track records, we’re even more excited to see their glam wardrobe choices.
Past: Best known for Fox’s short-lived sitcom Ben and Kate (and being the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson).
Present: Johnson landed the coveted role of Anastasia Steele, opposite Jamie Dornan, in the big screen adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. (The movie was recently moved to early 2015, but we have a feeling she’ll be blowing up 2014 all the same.)
Past: This star of ABC Family’s Secret Life of the American Teenager scored an Independent Spirit Award win for her portrayal of a sulky teen in the George Clooney starrer The Descendants. 2013 brought about coming of ager The Spectacular Now.
Present: Seems the 22 year old has quite the connection with troubled teens. This year she takes on the dystopian drama Divergent, based on the best-selling YA book of the same name. After that, it’s the love story The Fault in Our Stars, based on another best-selling YA book.
Past: Starred in the now cancelled TV shows The Undercovers and Touch, but is perhaps best know for co-starring with Tom Hanks in Larry Crowne.
Present: This gorgeous Brit is set to get major attention for the indie film Belle, in which she stars as the eponymous lead alongside Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, and Matthew Goode.
Past: After making her name in the Danish film A Royal Affair, Vikander garnered international attention for her role in the most recent production of Anna Karenina.
Present: 2014 will be a big year for the Scandinavian actress who will star in thriller Seventh Son and sci-fi flick Ex Machina (with Inside Llewyn Davis’s Oscar Isaacs).
Past: The granddaughter of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola has worked on a handful of films and is quite the indie It Girl.
Present: Her directorial debut Palo Alto, starring Emma Roberts and James Franco—and based on short stories by Franco—hits theaters in 2014.
Past: Too many projects to list, but to us she’s best known as Meryl Streep’s sassy assistant in The Devil Wears Prada.
Present: Pregnant with her first child—with husband John Krasinski—Blunt has quite the year ahead of her: she stars opposite Tom Cruise in sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow and in a star-studded ensemble cast of Broadway musical to screen Into the Woods.
