In addition to appearing on all sorts of fall runways-from the sleek Naomi Collar ($195) spotted at Vena Cava to the chunky chain-link Brass/Resin Choker ($1295) at Yves Saint Laurent-we adore the way our favorite tastemakers are embracing this trend. Some, like Jessica Hart and Jen Brill, are incorporating open-ended chokers into their after-hours ensembles. Hart, for example, selected the Swarovski Crystal Choker ($4050, 800.628.8916) by Ferragamo, which she paired with the plunging Houndstooth Silk Dress ($1950, 800.628.8916) for a Fashion's Night Out party at the brand's store. Brill also kept the focus on her choker by opting for a décolletage-baring neckline at a dinner honoring Carven's Guillaume Henry earlier this year. Brill selected Delfina Delettrez's Button Down Silver Collar Necklace ($2049) as her standout accent piece, and styled it with a strapless Carven jumper and Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony boots.
In addition to Hart and Brill, we also spotted some heavy metal chokers on two more fashion insiders: Marie Claire's Taylor Tomasi Hill and Margherita Missoni. Tomasi Hill was spotted at the Alice + Olivia F/W 11 presentation in New York earlier this year wearing a Fenton buckle choker with a Burberry biker jacket, Christopher Kane floral and lace skirt, Isabel Marant heels, and a Celine bag. The buckle necklace is in perfect keeping with her edgy ensemble and we love how she wore her hair in a simple, slicked-back style. Missoni also opted for unfussy, pulled-back hair for the Love Ball in France earlier this summer. The stunning designer/brand ambassador selected a silver choker-she picked it up in Laos-for the event, paired with a white Valentino Couture dress, vintage belt, and a clutch from Thailand. The result: an internationally chic look that works on every level!
Ready to follow in these ladies' fabulous footsteps and incorporate a marvelous metal choker into your fall wardrobe? We thought you might be, so we found a range of interesting options for you to consider. If you're looking for a substantial style and aren't afraid of studs, you'll definitely love Topshop's Stud Metal Torq Necklace ($35), which has an incredibly reasonable price tag too. Craving something with black links like the YSL runway iteration? Don't miss Vince Camuto's Link Necklace ($75, available any day), which also comes in an ivory version. Have a little more-okay, a lot more-cash to spare? Then you might want to indulge in Mawi's Femme Fatale Collar with Spikes and Crystal Gems ($1393). It's got a vintage-meets-luxe-punk look that's incredibly cool and very editorial, though it's an investment, for sure. But back to reality: if you're crazy about Jen Brill's Delfina Delettrez collar, but want something more affordable, you simply must check out Dannijo's Aram Necklace ($158). It's part of the Mr. Dannijo collection (a collaboration with Leandra Medine, aka The Man Repeller) and is available in oxidized silver or oxidized brass. Also be sure to take a look at Reiss' Hutton Tubular Metal and Resin Choker ($115), Fallon's fabulous Bourdin Bike Chain Choker ($190), and Annie Costello Brown's Black Leather Chain Collar ($350), which is the coolest.
