This Is What 24 Hours With Olivier Rousteing Looks Like

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to casually text Rihanna to hang out?

In Vogue's December issue, legendary fashion journalist Lynn Yaeger spent 24 hours with Balmain's wunderkind designer Olivier Rousteing, and that was definitely part of their day. Did RiRi want to come check out the Latex Ball, an annual voguing benefit held by the Gay Men's Health Crisis? Unfortunately, the singer was out of town.

When Yaeger spent the day with him, Rousteing was in New York this past July readying the opening of the city's new Balmain boutique and, of course, what would become a very successful collaboration with H&M. Rousteing's other favorite jaunts around the city include brunch at Tribeca's chic Odeon, a peep at the toys in Times Square's Toys "R" Us, nibbles at the highly regarded Harlem restaurant Red Rooster, and dancing at nightclub Diamond Horseshoe. Throughout the night, Yaeger writes, Rousteing was happy to stop and take selfies with fans.

“I love the vibe—the ethnicity, the street, pushing the boundaries," Rousteing told Yaeger of New York. "Fashion can help to push the system, too—all the good art is political. Fashion should also be kind of disturbing.” Check out the story on Vogue to experience more of their day together.
